Cognia solves this by building knowledge in layers—starting with curated business expertise, learning your specific organizational goals and processes, and adapting to individual working styles—creating an AI that truly understands your business and how you work, becoming more valuable with every interaction.
Technical Architecture
Our platform uses an advanced agentic network built on open-source foundations like Pydantic AI, LangGraph, and Mem0. We use hybrid search strategies with advanced chunking and retrieval that improve reliability, plus persistent memory that learns each user's unique working patterns and business requirements, with built-in feedback loops for continuous improvement.
Development Stage & Product Status
We are in the pre-launch development phase, with core infrastructure and foundational AI systems currently being built and tested. Our development timeline targets initial product availability within six months, with early access programs planned for select business partners.

Adam Thyer
Founder & CEO
Adam Thyer brings over 30 years of experience in communication-focused roles spanning marketing, education, and web application development. His diverse background includes founding and operating a marketing services firm, creating GreenExecutive.com (a collaboration platform for sustainability-focused professionals), leading marketing and sales for a major travel company, managing Amazon marketplace operations for multiple US enterprises, and corporate training.
The concept for Cognia emerged while Adam was developing a different startup focused on language learning. As he worked to create an "AI-first" approach for that venture, he recognized the need for a sophisticated framework that could enhance efficiency and productivity—one that simply didn't exist in the current market. The more he explored these requirements, the clearer his vision became for what would eventually become Cognia. The potential of this new concept proved so compelling that Adam pivoted entirely, setting aside his original startup to focus on building Cognia.
Jake Catlett
Technical Co-founder
Jake Catlett is Cognia's technical co-founder, bringing extensive experience in cloud development, data analytics, and full-stack application development. His technical expertise spans AWS and Azure cloud platforms, test engineering, analytics dashboard creation, database development, and ITSM automation and integration. Jake has also served as a Scrum Master, bringing valuable project management and agile development experience that helps drive Cognia's development process.
Jake graduated summa cum laude from Southern New Hampshire University in 2017 with a B.S. in Data Analytics. Beyond his formal education, he has pursued continuous learning through specialized online courses in programming and statistics, with particular expertise in R and Python programming languages. His combination of cloud engineering skills, data analytics background, and hands-on development experience provides Cognia with the technical foundation needed to build sophisticated AI infrastructure and scalable platform architecture.
